The Course

All events start and finish at Flagstaff Park, Commodore Ave, Flagstaff, Hamilton.

Half Marathon

Start in Flagstaff Park and follow path in park into Commodore Ave and into tunnel, continue down and around under the bridge to the river front of Alandale Retirement Village. Follow river path to top and turn right into River Rd and down footpath to the tunnel under Pukete Bridge. Through tunnel and turn left, straight ahead through to River Rd tunnel and continue along Wairere Drive footpath to path on right turning right at top. Continue out of this right of way into Landell Place, cross Harrowfield Drive, continuing clockwise around Harrowfield Drive and proceeding down the hill and crossing to go left back through the River Rd tunnel and left again into River Rd. Continue south along River Rd and take the Fairfield Esplanade path opposite Clarkin Rd down to the riverside to pass under Fairfield Bridge. Continue south along River Rd on the footpath to Memorial Drive and into Parana Park and follow this path up to the main driveway to Memorial Drive. Turn right and cross Victoria Bridge into Victoria Street. Turn right at the Municipal Pool entrance, down onto the path and cross Grantham Street to reach lower river path and head north along river path to exit at Sycamore Place. Turn right from Sycamore Place into Delamere Rd and then right into Totara Drive using footpath Continue along Totara Drive and take the second entrance into Braithwaite Park. Follow path to Sewer Bridge, cross the bridge and take the LH path into the tunnel. Emerge at Commodore Ave and keep to the RH footpath to the finish at Flagstaff Park.1

10 Kilometre

Start in Flagstaff Park and follow path in park into Commodore Ave and into tunnel following path and crossing Sewer Bridge. Turn right at end of bridge and follow path to Totara Drive. Turn left into Totara Drive and continue along footpath. After crossing the bridge on Totara Drive, turn left down the path that leads to Wairere Drive and veer right at the foot of this path and head down Wairere Drive towards Pukete Bridge. Cross Pukete Bridge and follow path to River Rd tunnel, pass through tunnel and continue along Wairere Drive footpath to the first path on the right. Continue out of this right of way into Landell Place turning left into Harrowfield Drive and continuing clockwise around Harrowfield Drive and then crossing over into Longwood Place. Cross footbridge and follow this path out into Clements Crescent. Continue along Clements Crescent and enter park at next exit. Follow this path which loops around and under bridge exiting up slope to Wairere Drive and turning right. Continue along Wairere Drive, exit at right to Portree Place, right into Glen Lynne Ave and then turn right into River Rd heading north. Cross Harrowfield Drive, enter River Rd tunnel and continue straight ahead to the tunnel under Pukete Bridge. Through tunnel and up towards River Rd, veer left into River Rd and down entrance to river path that takes you behind Alandale Retirement Village. Continue along this path heading towards bridge and turn right. Follow this path and veer left to tunnel, through tunnel emerging at Commodore Ave and keep to the RH footpath to the finish at Flagstaff Park.

5 Kilometre

This follows the 10km course to Pukete Bridge. After crossing the bridge go through tunnel and up towards River Rd, veer left into River Rd and down entrance to river path that takes you behind Alandale Retirement Village. Continue along this path heading towards bridge and turn right. Follow this path and veer left to tunnel, through tunnel emerging at Commodore Ave and keep to the RH footpath to the finish at Flagstaff Park.

Entries

All entries close Monday 27th September 2010

Online entries will be available until midnight 30th September 2010. Late entry fee applies. Late entries will be accepted up to 30 mins prior to the event start. Late entry fee of $15.00 applies and will be strictly adhered to. There are no refunds but entries can be transferred to another person/event. Confirmation for manual entries will be posted out with race instructions a week before event date.

Corporate Team Competition

The INGHAM HONDA TROPHIES for the Half Marathon and 10km will be awarded to the first placed team in these events. The trophy will be based on the aggregate times of the team members. Corporate teams in both events must consist of four participants in each event, male or female, walkers or runners and must include three employees of the Company and the Company name must appear in their team name. Select the Team tab where you will be able to enter all the team at once. When you enter your team there is an option for you to indicate if you require your race numbers and packs to be collated and to name the team member who will pick them up from registration.

Race Numbers & Race Packs

Flagstaff Club will be open from Friday 1st October 5 to 7pm, Saturday 2nd October 2010 from 9am to 5pm and on Sunday 3rd October from 7am for collection of race numbers, race packs and timing transponders. Race Packs will include a Mother Earth product which you get to choose from the display at Registration. Mother Earth make delicious, wholesome, natural food. Late entries will also be taken.

Walkers

The 1st - 3rd male and female walkers in the Half and 10km events will be recognised in the Merit Prize List. Participants in all events MUST walk the entire event distance. We rely on your honesty - please. If you wish to run and walk please enter the running events.

Aid Stations

Water will be provided at approximately 5km intervals and at the start/finish.

Prize Giving

Prize giving will take place at 12.30pm at the race finish. You must be present to collect any of the spot prizes. All spot prizes are randomly selected. Major spot prizes will be announced at prize giving. Randomly selected finishers will be handed a letter for minor spot prizes on the finish line. These can be collected from the spot prize tent. In the event of adverse weather the prize giving will be cancelled and all prizes will be posted out.

Masters age group winners who finish in the top 3 open men or open women in the Half Marathon & 10km events will be awarded ONE PRIZE ONLY, that being the prize of the greatest value.

Merit prizes total $7,500

The following walking age group men and women winners will be acknowledged at prize giving and a special place certificate will be available for collection from Registration upon conclusion of prize giving.

Timekeeping & Results

Overall finish time will be recorded by Sports Timing via a transponder attached to your shoe. You MUST hand in your transponder before leaving the finish area. Failure to hand in your transponder will result in a charge of $50.00. Official timekeeping ends 3hrs 30 after race start. Results will be posted on the website shortly after the event.

Parking

Parking is available in the field adjacent to Flagstaff Shops - enter by Kindergarten on Endeavour Avenue and follow the instructions from parking marshalls. Parking is also available in streets surrounding Flagstaff Park. Refer to location maps on website. We also ask that consideration be given to local residents when parking.

Road Closures

There will be some partial road closures in place, but this does not give entrants sole use of any part of the course. Road closures give entrants the legal right to run/walk on the roads, but do not mean that vehicles will not be present on the course. We have to allow for emergency and resident access. Entrants should obey all road rules and watch for traffic at all times.

Food & refreshments will be available.

All competitors must make themselves aware of event rules and information listed on the website and/or race instructions that will be emailed/posted out 1 week before event date.

Merchandise

T Shirts are available for purchase. To collect your T Shirt with your race pack you must pre order by Thursday 23rd September. Orders will be taken on race day and posted out to competitors. A postage charge will be added.

Finish Photographs

Photos will be taken of all finishers. Marathon - Photos.com are the official photographers and all photos and video will be available to view and purchase after the event at www.Marathon-photos.com You will also be able to download your Finisher's Certificate FREE from their website by clicking on the link and entering your race number.
