The Course

All events start and finish at the Hamilton Gardens (Governors Lawn) Cobham Drive, Hamilton.

Half Marathon

The course crosses Cobham Bridge & heads north on path west side of Waikato River to turnaround point between Pukete and Sewerage bridge. The course then heads south back to Fairfield Bridge, crossing the Bridge on the footpath to River Road. The course then follows the footpath south to Parana Park, rejoins the river path to the finish. (Please note if the slip on the river path between Bryce & London Street is not repaired by event date this part of the course will be diverted to Bryce, Victoria & London Streets to rejoin the river path).

10 Kilometre

An out & back course on east & west side of river.

5 Kilometre

An out & back course on east side of river.

Entries

All entries close Sunday 27th September 2009

Online entries will be available until midnight Thursday 1st October 2009. Late entry fee applies. Late entries will be accepted up to 30mins prior to the event start. Late entry fee of $15.00 applies and will be adhered to.

No refunds.

Corporate Team Competition

A trophy will be awarded to the first placed team in the Half Marathon and 10km events. The trophy will be based on the aggregate times of the team members. Corporate teams in both events must consist of four participants in each event, male or female, walkers or runners and must include three employees of the Company and the Company name must appear in their team name. Please contact the Race Director if you require us to sort your team numbers and race packs to be ready for collection by a team representative prior to the race.

Race Numbers

The Rotary Lounge at Hamilton Gardens (Gate 1 entrance) will be open on Saturday 3rd October 2009 from 12 noon to 5pm and Sunday 4th October from 7am for collection of race numbers, race packs and transponders. Late entries will also be taken.

Walkers

Walkers will be included in the Merit Prize List for the Half Marathon & 10km events. Participants in all events MUST walk the entire event distance. We rely on your honesty - please. If you wish to run and walk please enter the running events.

Aid Stations

Water will be provided at 5km intervals and at the start/finish.

Prize Giving

Prize giving will take place at 12.30pm at the race finish. You must be present to collect any of the spot prizes. All spot prizes are randomly selected. Major spot prizes will be announced at prize giving. Randomly selected finishers will be handed a letter for minor spot prizes on the finish line. These can be collected from the spot prize tent. In the event of adverse weather, the prize giving will be cancelled and all prizes will be posted out.

Masters age group winners who finish in the top 3 open men or open women in the Half Marathon & 10km events will be awarded ONE PRIZE ONLY, that being the prize of the greatest value.

Timekeeping & Results

Overall finish time will be recorded by Sports Timing via a transponder attached to your ankle. You MUST hand in your transponder at the finish line. Failure to hand in your transponder will result in a charge of $50. Official time keeping ends 3h 30 after race start.

Results will be posted on this website shortly after the event.

Parking

200 car parks will be available at the Hamilton Gardens, Cobham Drive. Enter either Gate 1 or 2. Additional parking is available in streets near the Gardens.

Food & refreshments will be available.

Merchandise

T-shirts are available for purchase. To collect your T-shirt at registration you must pre order by Thursday 24th September. Orders will be taken on race day and posted out to competitors. A postage charge will be added.

Finish Photographs

Photos will be taken of all finishers. Marathon - Photos.com are the official photographers and all photos will be available to view and purchase after the event at www.Marathon-photos.com You will also be able to download your Finisher's Certificate FREE from their website by clicking on the link and entering your race number.
